Fibertel is in a pickle!

Yup, that's right..

Well, maybe we don't look like Venezuela (and I hope that we never will, at least this Cháves Socialist Venezuela), but the people in our government look like they are 5 year old kids.

Clarin, one of the biggest newspaper around here, started printing on their paper about some stuff that the government didn't like about how they were adressing some issues. So, the started kindda harassing Clarin with street ads saying: "Clarin Miente!" (Clarin Lies!). So Clarin didn't stop, but continued on with what they were doing. "Hey, if the government is willing to spent money just to say that we are lying, than we must be bothering them in the exact place they don't want to be bothered".

Then, the government sent over 200 IRS (Internal Revenue Service) agents to the HQ of Clarin to take a closer look at their taxes.

A couple of days ago, our government decided to cancel Fibertels license as and internet provider. Fibertel belongs to Cablevision (a television provider that belongs to Clarin). Whats the excuse their using? "We didn't aprove the merger between Cablevision and Fibertel back in 2003)

Okey,
Firt off: That only speaks poorly of you and what you are doing with our money.
Secondly: The government isn't the one in charge of aproving mergers. Hell, they don't even come into the process. The ones in charge of overseeing mergers would be the antitrust committee, or whatever its called in English, and they had no problem with the merger in 2003.

The argentinian government is giving 90 days so that all Fibertel users con hire another Internet provider.

Fibertel has over 1.000.000 users all over Argentina. It seems to me that what the government is trying to do is to get users scared into believing that they are going to end up without a bandwidth connection so that they will hire another service.

Its my belief that everything will work out towards Fibertel advantage do to the illegitimate claims of the government.

In my opinion Fibertel is the best internet service provider in Argentina, and 1M user won't allow them to disappear just like that.
